Affiliate Outreach Conference (AOC) 2019

Affiliate Outreach Conference 2019, January 11 and 12, 2019, Casa Monica Resort, St. Augustine, FL Stipend Available for 2 affilaite members. Grant and Award applications due 12/7/2018

The Affiliate Outreach Conference, or AOC, is hosted by The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors.  This annual meeting brings together young lawyers and law students from across Florida to network, apply for program grants, glean ideas from other affiliates, and have fun.  AOC 2019 is taking place January 11-12, 2019 at the Casa Monica Resort & Spa in St. Augustine, Florida.  The conference is open to members of recognized young lawyer affiliates in Florida and designated Law Student Division representatives.

Prior to AOC, affiliate organizations from all over the state submit applications for project grant funding and annual affiliate awards, including Affiliate of the Year, Affiliate Public Service Project of the Year and Affiliate Member Service Project of the Year.   In conjunction with AOC, affiliate leaders make a grant presentation on their chosen projects.  At the end of AOC, the YLD announces the award recipients.  After AOC, the YLD notifies affiliates of grant awards.  Last year the YLD awarded approximately $50,000.00 for project grant funding.  Typical awards range between $500 and $1,500, though projects have received as much as $5,000 in the past.  Please visit the YLD website for ideas, including access to an idea bank to assist local bar affiliates with their programming and stay tuned for information including deadlines. The deadline to apply for a grant, or for awards, is December 7, 2018.

Two members of each affiliate are each eligible to receive a $400 reimbursement for attendance at AOC.  This is a conference you will not want to miss.  The weekend will feature a kick-off Gala with dinner and dancing, a 5k and fun run, a round-table to share ideas with other affiliate leaders, an opportunity to learn about affiliate projects hosted across the state, and networking with some of the best and brightest young lawyers in Florida.
