DESCRIPTION:Mentorship provides law students with a multifaceted support system\, aiding them in their academic journey\, career development\, and personal growth. Having a mentor ensures that students receive the guidance\, wisdom\, and resources necessary to thrive in the competitive and often challenging legal field. For the Mentorship Grant\, the YLD encourages Law School Affiliates to put on an event that focuses on connecting law students with practicing attorneys to forge mentoring relationships\, including but not limited to events like speed mentoring. . To gather inspiration from past events\, please consult the Affiliate Program Idea Bank located at: /affiliates/law-school-grants/\, but note that grant application requirements have changed over time. Each Law School Affiliate may submit one grant application requesting an award of up to $500.00. \nEvents and programs submitted for these grants must relate to the practice of law\, e.g.\, how the event or program improves the practice of law in Florida. The Young Lawyers Division does not fund projects that\, in the sole discretion of the YLD\, do not relate to the profession and the practice of law. Failure to follow the requirements may result in rescission of the grants and may affect consideration of any future applications for grants.
