Where in the World is President Santo DiGangi?

President DiGangi has had a busy Summer! First, he was sworn in as President of the Young Lawyers Division on June 21, 2019 in Orlando. While speaking to the general assembly, Santo summarized the goals of his presidency as follows: “My goal as YLD President is to be as inclusive as possible. I want young lawyers from all walks of life to come together and assist the YLD in making Florida the best place to practice law. In my opinion, this begins with ensuring young public sector attorneys are part of the conversation regarding the future of our Bar.”

After his swearing in, Santo began his whirlwind tour of speaking engagements, presentations, and other official Florida Bar meetings. First, Santo attended and presented at the Voluntary Bar Leaders Conference in Tampa, where he joined more than 150 voluntary bar leaders from small to large size bars for two full days of educational sessions and networking opportunities all designed to help develop skillful and informed bar leaders. Then, he attended the Joint Meeting of the Florida Bar Board of Governors and the Young Lawyers Division at Ocean Reef in Key Largo. As is tradition, the two boards competed against one another in the “Battle of the Boards.”  The Young Lawyers Division adopted President DiGangi’s dignified bald look for the competition.  As President DiGangi “baldly” put it: “Many of the same adjectives that can be used to describe my head can be used to describe the YLD: bright, full of shine, and well-rounded.” He also attended a Florida law school dean’s meeting in Tampa during the Florida Bar Exam.

But President DiGangi’s busy Summer is not done yet. Within the next month he is scheduled to attend an American Bar Association meeting in San Francisco, the Young Lawyers Division’s meeting in Ponte Vedra, oral arguments on the parental leave rule before the Florida Supreme Court, and the Florida Bar Board of Governors meeting in Destin.
