About Us

The Tallahassee Bar Association (TBA), Young Lawyers’ Section (YLS) is a group of young and newly-admitted attorneys and law students located in Tallahassee, Florida. The section promotes professional, social, and community engagement by hosting charity events and networking opportunities.
The purpose of the YLS is to stimulate interest of young and recently admitted attorneys in the objectives of the Tallahassee Bar Association and to promote professional and social understanding and cooperation among the members of the legal community. The YLS strives to contribute to the educational and professional advancement of attorneys, particularly the younger members of the Bar, as well as contribute to the betterment of the community in general through charity functions and projects. For example, the YLS annually sponsors charity events such as Christmas in July for disadvantaged children. We also host multiple social and networking events throughout the year.
To be eligible for membership in the YLS, an attorney must be under the age of thirty-six years of age or a member of the bar for less than five years. Additionally, each candidate must complete a membership application with TBA to ensure the YLS is able to maintain accurate membership rolls. The applications can be obtained here.
