About Us

The Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter National Bar Association was founded in the 1950s by a group of Black lawyers who mercilessly fought against injustice in Florida. Today, VHFCNBA consists of a network of nearly 1,000 attorneys statewide with sixteen affiliate chapters throughout the state of Florida.
Our mission is ensuring access to the justice system; increasing economic parity for the less fortunate, underprivileged, and disadvantaged of our society; and educating the community (particularly, the Black Community) on the need for empowerment and self-determination.
VHFCNBA has four quarterly meetings each year throughout the state of Florida, where members are provided with education and tools to expand and to enrich their practices. With hours of quality continuing legal education credits available each year, VHFCNBA is dedicated to empowering Black lawyers in the state of Florida.
