2017 Florida Bar Tech Show

I would like to personally invite you to attend the 2017 Florida Bar Tech Show: Riding the Technology Wave, presented by the Solo & Small Firm Section. The Tech Show is a one-stop shop for all your technology needs. By attending, you will receive 10 technology CLE hours; you will be able to question industry experts in person; you will be able to try out cutting-edge technology and you will receive many free trials to take home and try!

A recent rule change requires all Florida Bar members to obtain an additional three CLE hours over three years specifically dedicated to technology. In its order, the Florida Supreme Court commented, “… in order to maintain the requisite knowledge and skills, a lawyer shall engage in continuing study and education, including an understanding of the risks and benefits associated with the use of technology.” The Florida Bar Tech Show provides a unique venue in which lawyers can gain the mandated technology knowledge and skills.

Customize your Tech Show experience by selecting the track that best suits you. One is a hands-on track in which you will learn how to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook like never before. The other track addresses Cybersecurity and Privacy, Improving Efficiency with Text and Document Automation, and the Technology-Powered Modern and Successful Law Firm.

The Friday courses include a panel that will address technology between the bench and bar. Approximately 35 judges from around the state will be sitting with us during the panel discussion. It will be a great opportunity for all participants to have an open conversation regarding technology from the Bench perspective and technology from the Bar perspective. We are also presenting a panel of general counsels from the nation’s leading online legal platforms and top legal thinkers – AVVO, Rocket Matter and LegalZoom. The discussion will address how those providers interrelate with Florida’s legal regulatory framework and how you, the practitioner, fit into that picture.

Saturday starts with a panel of practice management/time and billing providers. Compare and contrast the leading products, evaluate which service is best suited for your practice and save countless hours of research into all of the practice management/time and billing providers. We close the day with the ever-popular 50 Tech Tips in 50 Minutes. Picking up a few of these tips is worth the cost of admission alone!

The Florida Bar Tech Show is January 27 – 28, 2017 at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center, Orlando Florida. Don’t be left out! Register now.
