Authors: Annika E. Ashton and Michael Sasso

The Young Lawyers Division is proud to announce that we are currently accepting grant applications for our Diversity/Women’s Initiative Grant.

In past years, we’ve received applications for some awesome ideas and events that have made an exceptional impact in their communities. We are looking forward to the interesting and innovative projects that our Affiliates will propose this year!

A little information about the Diversity/Women’s Initiative Grant. The purpose of the grant to promote diversity and Inclusion in the legal community. Each Young Lawyers Division Affiliate may submit an application for a grant award up to $500 towards an event that promotes and educates lawyers about diversity and inclusion.

There is no specific type of event that should be created. We definitely welcome creativity. Affiliates may host panel discussions on bias in the legal profession; host speakers on civil rights issues, immigration, or other legal issues that affect women or minority groups; co-host a networking event with an affinity or minority bar association; or create another type of event that promotes inclusion and equality.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity! The Application Deadline is February 14, 2020.
