Circuit: 19th Judicial Circuit
Governor: Luis A. Soss
Board Highlights
The Nineteenth Circuit is not only home to our Florida Bar President, John M. Stewart, it is also Governor Sosa’s pride and joy. Governor Sosa is substantially involved in various YLD committees, such as the Annual Committee, Awards Committee, Pro Bono/Community Service Committee, Moot Court Committee, and the Transition to Practice Committee. As immediate past President of the St. Lucie County Bar, Governor Sosa is passionate in representing the Nineteenth Circuit during his involvement in the Pro Bono/Community Service and the Awards Committee, which recognize public service or legal aid performed by a young lawyer (under the age of 36 or one who has not practiced for more than five years in any jurisdiction) and who provides outstanding contributions to those in need of legal services. In addition, as part of the Transition to Practice Committee, Governor Sosa will be assisting in creating and developing “How To” videos for new young lawyers that do not know how to utilize all the amazing tools and resources the YLD provides on their website.
Section Highlights
The Martin County Bar Association, Okeechobee County Bar Association, Saint Lucie County Bar Association, Port Saint Lucie County Bar Association, and the Indian River County Bar Association are all local affiliates of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit. It is well known how involved each local bar affiliate is and how much they do for their members and even the community. As a matter of fact, the YLD division of the Martin County Bar Association organized a “Game Day” for their Seniors at the Kane Center. In addition, they brought many needed personal hygiene items/donations to the Seniors.
