As the first attorney in her family, Sandy has always been committed to the promoting equal access to education. Prior to law school, as part of AmeriCorps and as a program manager at the education-based non-profit organization City Year, she stoked her commitment to uplifting young people through education. Since law school, Sandy has continued her dedication to youth development by serving as a member of the Leadership Counsel of Take Stock in Children Miami-Dade Chapter.
Sandy has been an active member and served in various leadership roles with the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of South Florida (APABA), which advocates for greater representation and inclusiveness for all groups because this leads to a greater society for all. After years of service, Sandy currently serves as the President. Her tenure has been marked by increased collaboration with other voluntary bar associations, increased awareness of historic civil rights struggles that have current-day analogues, and implementing new processes and initiatives so that APABA can better serve its membership and the community of South Florida.
