My preferred method of exercise is… running, but I like yoga, biking, and paddle boarding, too.
I am most productive during the day when I am… well-rested.
(Almost) every day I make sure to… do some form of exercise. Usually running. I love running. I love talking about running. I love talking about running goals. I love talking about routes, races, paces. I love other people that run. You get the picture.
My guilty pleasure is… the black and blue burger from Shakespeare’s, Sarasota’s best English pub.
The best way to deal with a difficult colleague or opposing counsel is… with kindness. I try to be as nice as possible to everyone I meet. When someone is being difficult, I don’t take it personally. I don’t know what is going on with that person. Instead, I find that it is most effective to be direct, professional, and nice.
I keep my priorities straight by… checking in with my husband and my dog every day. They remind me to be happy, which is my first priority.
My favorite music is… well, I love jam bands—maybe I should have written that under guilty pleasure.
The most relaxing vacation I ever took was… biking through Vermont from one quaint inn to another.
The most gratifying part about my job is… There are so many gratifying parts, I don’t know if I can choose. I value, appreciate, and generally enjoy being around the lawyers and staff at my firm, Matthews Eastmoore. I love researching, writing about, and arguing the law. I enjoy getting to know my clients and I am grateful to be a lawyer because it gives me so many opportunities to help others, in big ways and small.
The happiest lawyers are those that… have goals and interests that do not involve the practice of law. It also helps to live near the beach.
