YLD Kicks off Health & Wellness Month

The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division (YLD) is exited to launch its third annual “Health & Wellness Month.”  This initiative is designed to bring awareness to mental and physical issues that affect the quality of life of lawyers in Florida.  The YLD wants to start the conversation about mental and physical health, and we want you to be part of it.

Each day in May, the YLD will post easy health and wellness challenges, tips, video clips, and relevant articles on social media to encourage healthy habits.  The YLD will also profile judges, lawyers, and law firms that are focused on health and wellness.  In addition, the YLD is collaborating with experts in Florida and are offering free webinars with CLE credit for young lawyers.  But that is not all!  Each local affiliate has the opportunity to enter the YLD Youtube video contest and the YLD is investing more than $9,000 in grants to affiliates to conduct programs designed to encourage healthy behaviors.

The YLD will also address some of the more serious issues that young lawyers face, including substance abuse, addiction, and mental health disorders, and will provide information on the YLD website about resources where help is available.  A complete rundown of all that the YLD is offering during the Health & Wellness Month is found on the YLD Website.  Don’t forget to Like or Follow the YLD on Facebook and Twitter, and use the hashtags #livewell and #flayld as you participate in each challenge or share your own story.
