The Miami Beach Bar Association (“MBBA”) was organized in 1946 by a small group of Miami Beach attorneys.  We are comprised of approximately 100 regular (attorney) and associate (non-attorney) members.  We currently have eight officers and 17 directors, which comprise an active board that meets monthly and organizes a robust Law Day program, approximately a half dozen CLEs, a judicial reception, a “Legal Legends” award, and additional social events yearly.  Our current president, Jodie Breece, has initiated an effort to recruit and advance younger lawyers in the association’s leadership.  This year, she appointed an ad hoc committee, the Young Lawyers Committee, to make recommendations to our board regarding how to attract and retain young lawyer members and give them meaningful opportunities to contribute to the profession and community.  We are hopeful that becoming a YLD Affiliate will help us do so.
