Normally, the YLD offers a second grant titled Afternoon at the Courthouse/Professionalism. Due to the ongoing Court closures, we are modifying the grant this year to open the grant up to any topic your organization wants to pursue. This could include a second community service event, an inclusion and equality event, a health and wellness event, or any other type of event you can imagine. The one thing we ask is that your event include a component with the judiciary as both Afternoon at the Courthouse and Professionalism often bridge the gap between the legal community and our judiciary.
Each Local Bar Affiliate may submit one application for a grant award up to $500.00 towards an event meeting the above parameters. Grants will be announced in April and awarded on or around May 1, 2021. Affiliates must post the event on the Find an Affiliate website and use the hashtag #flayld in all social media posts related to the event.
