New for 2024, this grant invites your affiliate to develop a program that makes legal services more accessible in your respective communities. In so doing, you will join the ongoing initiative of providing access to justice. The ideal pro bono legal services focused program:
The opportunities are endless, as you craft a program that brings a better understanding of the law to others. As a bonus, volunteering at an event within these parameters may give your YLD members an opportunity to perform hours towards satisfying their pro bono reporting requirement!
Some examples of appropriate program ideas would be the Lake County Bar Association Expungement Clinic and the Orange County Bar Association’s Wills for Heroes program, which can be viewed by visiting the Program Idea Bank on the Affiliate Grants landing page.
Events and programs submitted for these grants must relate to the practice of law, e.g., how the event or program improves the practice of law in Florida.
The Young Lawyers Division does not fund projects that, in the sole discretion of the YLD, do not relate to the profession and the practice of law. Help us showcase your efforts for the betterment of your organization, The Florida Bar, and our profession. Failure to follow the requirements may result in rescission of the grants and may affect consideration of any future applications for grants. Applicants are encouraged to reach out to the Grants Committee throughout the application process to ensure their programs satisfy all requirements.
