When I’m feeling stressed I…blast some great music and sing as loud as possible (hopefully no one is around).
When I can’t fall asleep I…watch something on boring on TV for a few minutes. Works every time!
I am most productive during the day when I…am uninterrupted and have my “to do” list in front of me.
The best advice I’ve received about balancing work and life is… give up the idea of perfection. Do the best you can each day, try not to be hard on yourself.
The one thing I would tell a stressed out and overwhelmed young lawyer is… don’t hesitate to ask for help from family, friends and colleagues. Most have already experienced what you are going through and can come up with suggestions to assist.
Every day I make sure to… tell my husband and children that I love them.
The best way to deal with a difficult colleague or opposing counsel is… picking up the phone and calling them and even suggesting meeting for coffee. Try to find some commonality- this does work!
The worst piece of advice I ever received was…by someone who told me to “not go for it”. I didn’t listen.
I keep my priorities straight by…recognizing what is important in life- health, family and friends.
My favorite sport to play/watch is…watching college football.
